System Mapping for Quantitative Modelling
This course introduces systems thinking and system mapping for policy challenges in energy systems of LMICs, equipping learners to analyse feedback, power, and leverage points in complex socio-technical systems. Designed for policymakers, researchers, and practitioners, this course builds conceptual and practical skills in systems thinking and participatory system mapping. It introduces causal loop diagrams, system archetypes, and the iceberg model, applying them to LMIC-relevant challenges such as energy access, finance, and informality. Through case studies and hands-on exercises, participants learn to identify feedback loops, stakeholder dynamics, and leverage points, and to translate qualitative insights into modelling, policy, and financing strategies
This is the March 2026 presentation of the course.
