i excluded myself

when i joined an online course and the tutor was unable to cope with online teaching, the session was disjointed and difficult to follow and so frustrated i dropped out. i try to remember that experience every time i teach online.

We excluded students

As we struggled to take our teaching online during the pandemic, equity and access to technology by the majority of the students became apparent. Unbeknownst to us, we were excluding students from disadvantaged families who could not access mobile devices like laptops, computers, iPads, etc. Also, access to data and mobile networks is still a challenge to accessing mobile learning in Kenya.

I 100% agree

The first point of access is having the technology to access.  That is the biggest barrier I feel more than disability.  

I work in the library trying to be part of the solution helping people to get access buy firstly updating their skill about the internet and how to get online and secondly getting the m equipment.  

this started as a result of the pandemic when the realisation of a lot of things became paramount.  Internet poverty along with technological poverty became apparent.
