Week 5. Activity 4

Much as I would like to attach a picture all came up as too large.

However to describe what you cannot see. I am in a large office with trees outside. To mu right is a person why is as tech un-savvy as me. To my left is a new ops manager. She is in her own little office and believes the world will crash without more IT taking over. Any new app or programme will be tested. other wise a very relaxed managerial style

Week 5 Activity 4 Space and Technology

Can't access the picture of a space that comes to my mind. The excise reminds me of one of the organisations I was previously associated with. It used effectively collaborative leadership, whereby suggestions for recommendations to the board on strategy emerged from discussions by staff, volunteers and other stakeholders. The gathering took place in the boardroom around the a round table and the use of technology was limited to a minimum to allow open discussions and focus on a given subject without having to be clouded by too much information. such approach allowed people to be open, to offer positive criticism to suggestions made by people in attendance. This approach captured what I was told when I joined the organisation, that it was a learning organisation.

Hi Sandy.  I love that you have space and can see trees and the outside.  Nature can be quite inspirational and relaxing - watching the clouds skim by always helps clear my mind and allow some new thinking.

Its a shame you have someone with such valuable technical skills in a different office rather than working alongside you to each learn from each other and break down some of the fear technology can generate; trust me, I know it does!!
