Week 1 - Activity 3

‘Leadership is a collaborative, political and participative practice that provides direction, energy and critical engagement on issues that are made to matter.’

This statement I have found particularly thought provoking as I have never thought of leadership as being so complex. I was always under the assumption that some people have personalities that suit leadership and others do not naturally have this quality. That being said I do believe leadership can be learnt if an individual who does not hold natural leadership qualities is motivated or passionate about the area they will be displaying leadership. Those particular individuals I feel could thrive in leadership if paired with management who are supportive and empathetic to encourage these individuals to explore their style of leadership.
