Overall experience

Hi,

Like Phillip, I have not been overtly excluded from online learning, but thinking more deeply about it, I have questioned the experience? I think the lack of face to face contact (even via video) is a thing and you generally don’t have a shared learning experience with peers or the same level of tutor support that you would otherwise get face to face? This can be overwhelming and I think for some courses, virtual reality may help rather than text / email / forums? The lack of human connection can feel quite restrictive for a learner.

Hi Peter,

I feel the same way. This is also my first time studying fully online, and the lack of face‑to‑face interaction can make it harder to feel connected. When there’s no video contact, the learning experience can feel a bit distant, especially for those of us who are new to online education.

I’ve found that seeing tutors or classmates through video, or having more interactive elements, really helps. It creates a stronger sense of connection than relying on text, emails, or forums alone.
