'Visitors and Residents in the digital Age'

A visitor is a digital contributor who is proficient with social media but rarely uses it due to differences in knowledge. Rapid technological tools for engagement and change are integrated into schools, granting pupils broad knowledge both inside and outside the classroom. Their experience and skills differ from those of non-technology users and from those who interact with others or learn specific terminology related to technology, the web, or social media. Residents who spend substantial time online tend to become experts in their digital contributions. Similarly, the frequency and dependence a contributor has on texting in professional contexts, such as work or study, reflect their level of engagement and expertise. Higher education embraced the shift with learners becoming residents in their fields of expertise and relying on digital tools to make an immediate presence and contributions.
