week 6 reflection

Importance of visual ques for children and how/where to incorporate more of these into my setting, it also made me think about language barriers for example we have a child who's first language is french this would be great for him when he feels he cannot communicate.

I really appreciated the webinar also listening to a speech therapist made me really reflect on what i can be doing to support and help the children in my setting.

This course also made me reflect on certain behaviours and that it could be a child trying to communicate with actions rather than always words, maybe struggling to express themselves or can't communicate with us and becoming frustrated i will certainly be thinking about this next time we have challenging behaviour and looking at all aspects of the situation and how to communicate and handle this now.

morning Rebecca

thank you for sharing your reflections, it's really helpful feedback for us.  very glad that you are applying the content to your practice. I found Joanne's presentation during the webinar really interesting and I think it's a great example of how SALTs can support the work of ELC practitioners.

thank you for doing the course.

very best wishes

Jackie

I have really enjoyed the course . . It has also made me reflect on my own practice I will be using sounds and visual aids into my storytelling. Given more confidence of how to be a better role model, being an active listener at meetings not to jump in with advise but reflect, listen to what the other person has said and ask open ended questions.

The webinar was good to listen to. Learning some of the skills they use we  do naturally like expand on a child word to expand their vocabulary. PECS I not heard of and is a great way of communicating.

Thank you .
