week 6 discussion

I found the course interesting and it has gave me time to reflect on how I can be a better practitioner.  By supporting the whole family and spending quality time with them and get to know them all will help me to give the right support to each individual child.  Parents know their child best and inviting them into nursery for stay and play sessions is a vital tool where we can observe how the child learns through play with their families which will help my setting to provide tailored support to a child.  Also, when a child is displaying challenging behaviour it is important to try and find out why this child is communicating in this manner and to find ways for them to communicate without getting frustrated by incorporating visual aids, puppets. etc.
