My 3 words...

Communication - observe visual cues, bob down, really listen, and give time for turn-taking and responses

Communication - respect the communicator, demonstrate understanding, active listening

Communication - it's not all about speech, consider behaviour, body language, be intuitive, and allow time for the process to be organic

Children are unique and all have a way to communicate.  It is up to others to engage and encourage by giving them a reason to communicate and a platform to be heard.  No child should be invisible.

An inspiring thought! - No doubt the child should be at the centre for all practice but also the loving and caring parent should be included and supported with warmth, compassion, dignity, and respect too. Their experience and understanding of their child should be appreciated and absorbed into the collaborative and holistic approach to facilitate a child reaching his or her potential.

Thanks for the course... a thought-provoking experience.
