Reflection week 6

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to complete this course. i found it really interesting and informative. The webinar was interesting to listen to. I had worked with PECS before with a little autistic girl. It was very successful, especially working closely with her mum and SLT. We did try Boardmaker first but the little girl showed no interest in this form of communication, which was a little down heartening so when PECS worked it gave me a sense of success and happiness that i could communicate with this little girl also just seeing her smile . I also think the idea of visual ques are great not only for children with ASN but all children in the nursery.

I really enjoyed listening to Elizabeth Hendreson and found her clips inspiring. Children are at the centre of everything, 'go with the child', holistic approach and the words ' Head,  Hand, Heart' just touched me.

My three words; Communication , support, family
