I agree with you Doc that the TESSA handbook will be a good guide to train Teachers and Learners generally. In addition, I will visit OpenLearn or any other OER site to get relevant materials or repositories to use for my teaching

For me I will use Commonwealth of Learning as OER, I will incorporate it in my teaching by appending hyperlinks of the presentations I make in class for students to watch short videos and participate in activities that I will have designed.

Why do you prefer commonwealth of learning

The reason for preferring commonwealth of learning is because it is a new course designed to meet  the present challenge posed to education today due to Covid19  pandemic. Also it offers opportunity for reflection and discussion to enhance understanding of the subject in local context

Even though it is early days in this discussion Forum, the suggestions I have just read are giving me some great ideas! Please everybody, make your answers as practical as you can so that we can borrow and adapt ideas. All in the spirit of OERs - adapt and adopt!

TESSA Teacher Educator: Section 4 Discussion forum: Re: Integrating OER into Teacher Education Programme 4.4

Integrating OER and ICT in our teaching/ lecturing will definitely be abit challenging, especially that it requires commitment, support and cooperation from almost all stakeholders at all levels in our various institutions. But its worth trying because to me this is teaching/lecturing made simple, interesting and effective.

I will use TESSA_Personal_action_plan_for_ICT to discuss with my colleagues on how to use ICT in planning the teaching and learning process. Also, to organize my classes using ICT and motivate students to participate actively in the construction of knowledge.

Thanks for this suggestion Heitor, I think it links really well to previous posts that others have shared about wanting to review the use of ICT in their practice. Its a really practical starting point.

I will use OER recommended tools for working with large classrooms, apply appropriate technology for teaching like smartphones and videos and adopt teaching methods that are learner centered. I will also use modules, if any, books, plagiarism software and available resources depending on the course I am teaching.

Creating awareness about the TESSA OERs to my students. This way they will be able to explore and see how best they can apply the OERs for their teaching practice.
