I do agree with Deane. Following the themes or headings for each activity helps us to think conceptually and also respond to key issues covered. exchange of information around the subheadings will also help improve on the course content and presentation in future.
Activity 1.1: My Vision is to see technology-enabled education for every child in line with 21st Education vision.
Activity 1.2: Education Policy and Teacher Education: In my country the education policy emphasises, competence based curriculum and learner-centred pedagogy at all the levels. This has had an impact on teacher education. Pre-service teachers have to have their curriculum modified to give emphasis to the policy while in-service professional development renews teaching skills to effect the new demands in addition to then introduction of e-learning.
Activity1.4: UNESCO Framework: The framework emphasises the need for teachers to integrate ICT for teaching and learning in order to promote active teaching and learning.
Activity 1.5:Teachers' use of OERs: To me this has been a revelation that there are so many resources out there for free. No matter quality there are many children particularly in remote areas who have no access to textbooks or reading materials and yet OERs are there for teachers and learners to use. any improvements can be made to them but basic materials to use are available.
These are my views on key issues raised. Thanks to our facilitators for getting us to reflect on our current practices and the future as well.
