Learner-centered approach

Learner-centered approach can be seen as the most appropriate method in teaching because it gives room for all learners to participate and make contributions to topic being discussed

I agree with you Elizabeth on the issue of engagement and motivation most from the part of the learners when it comes to LCE because at the end of the day if the teacher does not know how to tap into the interest of the learners with the planned activities , they will not be engaged in them and I don't think the LCE will work well.

Abubakar, you are right. However, the teacher must possess skills to keep the class organised otherwise it may become noisy

This is the case, Felicia, a learning classroom can become a noisy classroom, and this might be another skills we, as teachers / educators, need to develop: recognising the difference between the constructive noise of learning and the noise of distraction.

Our role as monitor during learning activities is crucial. At the Open University, we used to use this phrase "Monitoring by walking around (MBWA)". Walking around the classroom enables the teacher to make sure that everybody has understood the instruction and is on task. It enables the teacher to support learners/groups that encounter a difficulty and to push everybody to move their understanding, skill or thoughts a little further. It enables the teacher to bring straying individuals/groups back on track.

I do love a busy class full of learning noise, and as the teacher/facilitator, I make it my role to ensure that the noise is a learning noise.

in an LCE classroom setup the learners have a chance to discover both their potential and challenges and work, with the e help of peers and support of teachers, to reach their optimum knowledge in the course of time

True.

The learner becomes the actor, as the teacher lays the guide on the side or rather coach role
