The seasoned traditional teacher and ICT

The greater challenge; as I see it, is for the 'experienced' teacher to readily adapt to the new way of ensuring learning takes place. We have to cede discipline by presence, to a collaborative technique on a platform where the learners could be more adept at mnipulating the tools than the teacher.

The teacher has to accept that what was previously labelled as classic truancy could now be due to factors beyond the learner's control: power outage, no WiFi, breakdown of gadget...and the teacher must be flexible enough to allow for such moments.

The other challenge is that the teacher needs to regularly upgrade one's technical competence as the platform manager also compete to remain relevant to their clients' needs.
