| The main learning and messages from this session are: |
|
- A victim or survivor-centred approach involves doing everything you can to reassure and support the person disclosing.
- This approach should be embedded across all aspects of safeguarding.
- People who have experienced abuse in sport are in a unique position to inform and improve safeguarding.
- Any engagement with people with lived experience of abuse must be meaningful and have the scope to really impact on what your organisation says and does.
- Everyone in your organisation has a role to play in creating an environment that doesn’t re-traumatise those who have experienced abuse.
