It can damage their health, well-being, growth and ultimately their development into adults able to create strong family and community units. It is important for health practitioners to have an understanding about the factors that are likely to place children at risk of violence, and to recognise key signs and indicators of abuse. In this session you will explore the various forms of violence that may be inflicted on children and consider the impact of such behaviour. You will also learn about the strategies that may be used to prevent and respond to violence in the communities where children live.
