8.2  Group study in the community

You could use the modules to provide training for community groups such as WASHCOs, the Health Development Army or school-based clubs and associations. You should select specific study sessions or parts of study sessions according to the needs of the particular project or enterprise. To develop the materials and adapt them for this purpose requires both aspects of the classroom teacher’s role in planning the session, and aspects of the distance learning tutor’s role in supporting the group in their activities. The learning outcomes, key terms, ITQs and SAQs should all be used in this context to ensure the group gets the most out of the training session.
