You can divide your sheet with lines so that you can get proportional spaces and even do another kind of studies to study the position of the human figure

Let us try with a dancer

I divided the sheet according proportions and did as bellow

Step one draw the divisor lines and sketch your figure

Draw and start colouring your picture, in this case, I used pastel

Final step

Cover the background and correct your picture and it is finished.
