There are four basic forms

Square

Triangle

Circle

Rectangle

You must base yourself in a form as an example:

If you are drawing a vase the base is a circle and the form will be a cylinder.

Those forms are for objects yet to do a landscape or another kind of free work you need only to have your ground line.

A good strategy is dividing your space in four areas with light lines.
