(0:03) Hello and welcome to your course Learning Languages with Senior Learners and congratulations (0:11) on successfully logging on to this website and finding the course. Here you are on the landing (0:18) page of your training programme. If you scroll down a little bit you will see the course description (0:26) and below also the course learning outcomes which you will achieve when studying this course.

(0:36) I'll just scroll back up again to show you where to access the actual activities and content of (0:44) this course. You just click on the tab in the middle here, course content. You will then see (0:51) that your course consists of six units.

To access any one of these units simply click on the bar. (1:02) So I'm clicking on this first one here and you can see it opens up with further materials and (1:09) information. In this first unit you will find the course guide, assessment guide, assessment timetable.

(1:17) These are useful materials to read before you get started. We also have a forum. This is an (1:27) important place where you can communicate with your tutors and fellow students.

Here you can ask (1:34) questions or comment on anything and we have posted a welcome message here to explain how this forum (1:41) works. So if I click on the forum you can see any messages here and it says your introductions. (1:50) So this is the first message here and you are subscribed to this forum which means that you (1:57) will receive email notifications of messages that will be posted here and this is really useful (2:04) because your tutors might post information that is important about aspects of the course.

(2:11) So as you see in this forum I have already posted a welcome message. If I click onto this it opens up (2:17) and you can read it if you want and you can just reply to it by clicking at the bottom here (2:25) on the reply button. So please add your reply to the post and it would be great if you could add (2:32) a picture of something that is important to you or describes you well and you can also comment on (2:39) what other people have written by replying to their posts.

So I'll go back up again to the Unit 1 (2:47) and in Unit 1 you can also see the Unit 1 materials. This is like an e-book and in the (2:57) materials you can find all the activities that we would like you to work your way through. (3:03) So you just basically click on that link and here you can see what the individual tasks (3:09) are.

So you just scroll down here and you can see the tasks. Please use the next or previous button (3:19) to work your way through the materials. So I'll just click on next here and that just brings up (3:25) the next side of this activity and previous takes you back to the last side that you were on.

(3:35) Please note that not all of the materials will be visible to you yet. We will gradually (3:43) release more materials as you work your way through the course. There are two ways of moving (3:50) between items in this course.

The first one is the one I've just shown you using the next or the (3:56) previous buttons in our e-books where you can find the materials. Another way to move is to go to the (4:06) table of contents which you can see here and you can then also click on any of the activities in (4:14) the unit directly. So for example, I could click here on the unit one questionnaire and that would (4:21) bring it up directly.

And if you look in the top here, this is the link that takes you back to the (4:29) main landing page and here we are back at the beginning. We hope you will enjoy this course (4:36) with us and we are looking forward to working with you.

Close this tab to return to Unit 1.
