The Seasons: Summer

Summer:  A time for picnics and wishing for sunny weather for sighting butterflies.

Summer: Small tortoise butterfly orange wings open sitting on top of a purple knapweed flower among the green grass.

Summer: bright light blue Damselfly with dark stripes, sitting on bright green ferns.

Nearer the beginning of the warmer weather you can be lucky enough to get a still day, perfect for damselflies.  Later on, as the summer warms up, the occasional dragonfly puts in an appearance.
