2.4 Romantic stories
Love stories can have the power to bridge divides and fuel leadership. Gabriel (2000) describes these stories as twofold. First, they can be about love winning through. Such stories can provide hope and make the audience feel better about the world and themselves. Second, they can describe acts of generosity and appreciation – whether they’re simpler or grander in scale – that demonstrate that human beings are capable of recognising and rewarding decent behaviour. You tell such stories when you want to generate positive feelings of satisfaction and kinship among colleagues.
