Voice of Kibera logo Voice of Kibera describes itself as a project that "aims to give collective global voice to Kibera residents by aggregating local citizen reports, Kibera community media and other relevant news and information. In partnership with various local organizations, the Map Kibera team launched Voice of Kibera to visualize reporting in and about Kibera (one of the largest slums in Africa)".

It was initiated by non-governmental organisations/charities and social movement activists and encourages people to participate through an online platform and citizens' reporting. Voice of Kibera is local in orientation and concerned with neighbourhood & community

It was launched in 2010 and is ongoing.
