Welcome to a collection of Open University courses that have been specially selected for NEU members.

The NEU believes that you should have access to CPD at every stage of your career, regardless of the role, sector or phase that you work in. Regularly updating your knowledge and skills will help you to remain competent, effective and innovative in your role. If your practice has these qualities, then you are more likely to feel inspired, inspire others and teach effectively – which will mean that your learners can achieve their best.

We have selected several courses that will be accessible for a six-month pilot period. The courses are informal and accredited: you can study them at your own pace, and some carry a printable certificate of participation.

The courses are free to access online on the OU’s OpenLearn platform, which has a wide range of free courses and materials across a number of topics. All you need to do is enrol on any course that interests you, then work through the materials and complete any activities or quizzes to earn your certificate. To help plan your progress, each course includes an estimate for how long it will take, although you may find it takes you less or more time.

The pilot will run until December 2020, when it will be reviewed. Please ensure you have completed all your courses by then.
