DIY Learn is a set of online modules to help development practitioners understand and embed practical tools to support social innovation in their work.
This online learning programme in social innovation includes ten practical modules. The modules are based on the ten tools that practitioners found most useful from Nesta’s DIY Toolkit. The tools are quick to use, simple to apply and designed to help busy development practitioners invent, adopt or adapt ideas that can deliver better results. DIY Learn has been designed to support a deeper understanding of how to get the most out of the Tools.
The modules can be used individually or in combination. You can study one or more module in any order, according to your needs. At the end of each module there is an opportunity to do a quiz and receive a digital badge and statement of participation as evidence of your learning.
The DIY Learn forum provides an online space for you to talk to other people with an interest in embedding innovation in their work. As a DIY Learner you are part of a community that is spread across the globe with an incredible variety of backgrounds and experience. You can use the forum to share and learn about this experience, seek and provide help and support and to build friendships and working partnerships. You can also connect with others via DIY Toolkit Facebook page.
To get the most out of DIY Learn, including access to the forum, and to gain your digital badge(s) you will need to create a free Open University account and then enrol on each of the modules you want to study. You can create your new account, follow the instructions and once you have finished registration simply close the browser window or tab. Refresh THIS page to update your status so you can enrol. The enrolment button is in the top right-hand corner of each module.
