Welcome to the course on seed quality management for scientists in agricultural research organizations.
This course has been organized by the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT.
Whether you work in a national agricultural research organization, an international agricultural research center, or a non-governmental organization engaged in the conservation of crop diversity, the course is designed to help you conserve seeds under your care to the highest professional standards.
The course will help you to appreciate how daily operations of genebanks and breeding programs are affected by the underlying biology of seed development and germination. You will learn about the latest scientific discoveries in this area, and how the biological principles that seed scientists have revealed can be harnessed to improve the longevity and viability of seeds in storage.
This is the first presentation of the course.
Development of this course was funded by the CGIAR Trust Fund donors’ contribution to the ‘CGIAR Initiative on Genebanks’ (2022-2024).
