      Students will learn practical, real-world money skills they can apply immediately. Budgeting and Saving covers managing money, setting financial goals, and building healthy saving habits. Banking Basics explains types of banks, debit and credit services, and how to manage different accounts. Investing 101 introduces stocks, bonds, real estate, insurance, and ways to grow money over time. Avoiding Debt and Credit Management shows how credit works, interest rates, strategies to avoid debt, and tips for building good credit. Paycheques and Taxes teaches how income, deductions, and key taxes like GST, PST, and HST affect earnings. Financial Scams and Digital Safety helps students recognize scams, protect money online, and know what to do if they become a victim.

      By the end of the course, students will understand how to plan, save, spend, and invest money responsibly. They will gain confidence in managing finances, avoiding debt, building credit, and protecting themselves from financial risks. This course provides practical tools to make informed financial decisions and take full control of their financial future.

    • Students will learn to distinguish saving from budgeting, use strategies like the envelope method, and set SMART goals to manage money effectively.
    • Students will learn about types of banks, debit vs. credit services, different bank accounts, and tips for managing money effectively.
    • Students will learn what investing is, the types of investments, and basics of stocks, bonds, real estate, and insurance.
    • Students will learn about debt and credit, pros and cons of borrowing, interest rates, how to build good credit, and strategies to avoid or manage debt.
    • Students will learn the difference between paycheques and taxes, understand direct vs. indirect taxes, and key taxes like income, GST, PST, and HST.
    • Students will learn common financial scams, red flags, strategies to protect money online, and steps to take if they become a scam victim.
