    • Volunteer Scotland - Learning Bites

These Learning Bites have been created for you to think about the important things which need to be considered to ensure a positive experience for all individuals engaging in volunteering.

Learning Bite - A Volunteer Charter

The Volunteer Charter sets out 10 principles which provide the foundations for a good volunteer experience. It also clarifies appropriate volunteer engagement, preventing the exploitation of workers and volunteers. Why not submit your pledge to the Volunteer CharterThe pledge provides a useful steppingstone into the Volunteering Quality Pipeline.

This Learning Bite has been developed by Volunteer Scotland and the STUC and will introduce the key questions that should be reflected on as you think about whether or not you are applying the principles of the Volunteer Charter within your group or organisation. This short learning bite will help you interpret the ten principles of the volunteer charter to your own situation.

This is an excellent course. I am glad to have learned what I have learned about the process of being a volunteer in Scotland. It is meaningful to me as these skills are relevant to volunteering more generally and understanding other systems.
