Writing with a clear purpose for a specific audience is extremely motivating. We want to introduce you to three initiatives around creative writing which you and your pupils might want to engage with.
Scottish Book Trust: What’s your story?
You can find out about a number of fantastic teen initiatives run by the Scottish Book Trust as well as links to writing competitions at StoryCon.
Scottish Book Trust: 50 Word Fiction competition
The Book Trust annually run a Scots story competition, the 50 Word Fiction contest, which closes at the end of September.
Young Scots Writer of the Year Award
"Stories, poems, spoken word pieces, comics, videos or other pieces of writing – we want to see it all, as long as it's in Scots and under 2500 words or up to ten minutes."
