Finally, we have the biggest birds of them all: Birds of prey! These birds are very, very big. They typically eat fish, mice, rabbits - or other birds! 

They are excellent hunters due to their superb eyesight and hearing. These birds have hooked beaks and big talons.

A number of places! On hills, by lochs, or by roads. They make very little noise and fly very high up in the sky.

The boss of the loch

This magnificent bird is an 'Osprey'! He is a summer visitor to Scotland, one of his favourite places to go is Loch of the Lowes near Dunkeld. Have you been?

They may not seem very big when sitting or standing, but in flight and when their wings stretch out, you will realise that they can be truly massive. They might be bigger than you!
