Migration

The Scottish winter may seem bitterly cold for us, but for some tough little birds it's considered warm.

Our mild winters mean more berries and shrubbery than colder countries, and our water typically doesn't freeze for long!

The colourful, little Waxwing comes from Scandinavia to visit in the winter.

Small, red holly berries are a great food source for waxwings and other winter birds.

Time to show off one of your favourite places! Putting together all that you know about bird habitats and migration, can you make a tourist sign like the ones above to inform visitors about one of your favourite nature spaces

Include some colourful drawings of local birds, some information on when they visit Scotland, which habitat they like to live in, and what they like to eat! You will need some colourful pens/pencils/crayons, A4 paper, and all your knowledge! Can you add a map to it too?
