very important animals
Coming from a village in the countryside, I've carried my passion for gardening into city life. I am committed to safeguarding the tender seeds and crops I cultivate, employing bird-friendly nets and an array of wind-spinning decorations and melodic tubes. There are numerous methods to protect crops, and it's disheartening to see them ravaged. Unprotected gardens fall prey to pigeons, leaving nothing behind. However, it's vital to acknowledge that birds are not the enemy; they are integral to the broader ecosystem, which we humans often disrupt. With this understanding, I advocate for adapting our methods to coexist peacefully with these beings. In my urban garden, I allocate specific plants for birds and insects, while shielding the remainder. I've set up feeding and watering stations. Birds enhance our mental well-being with their delightful appearance, soothing songs, and the joy they impart. They also aid in seed dispersal via their droppings and manage the populations of pests like mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas. They're a crucial link in the food chain, they are being eaten by not just other animals but also by humans. Their droppings act as fertilizer. Imagine a world devoid of birds; it would be overrun by harmful insects. Mosquitos, flees, ticks, midges and other. Birds also contribute to the decomposition of animal remains. Establishing bird-friendly zones adjacent to crop fields and maintaining natural ponds can significantly benefit them. They require sustenance and habitats, especially since human activity has encroached upon their territories. By diverting their extensive dietary preferences away from crops, we can minimize losses, ensuring they are negligible but not detrimental. So, birds aren’t pests at all. I never thought of them this way, even when I forgot to cover my crops. I could me upset only on myself. They are more important than some people recognise even if they damage sometimes something. Plus, they are intelligent.
