Week 4 Activity 4

Whilst we have a variety of funding streams our largest is from the local authority. We need to address this as with impending local authority cuts we may have our funding significantly reduced. Also we have the dilemma of being the conduit between the voluntary and community sector and being a voice for the sector, independent of the local authority. It is difficult to remain 100% independent - we naturally and unconsciously want to impress them because we want continuing funding. A few organisations/councillors have mistaken us for being part of the council! How can we best retain and show our independence and not be too influenced by the agenda of others?
