similarity between visitors and residents

1. Use of the Internet

  • Both Visitors and Residents use digital tools and the internet—just in different ways.

  • Both groups access websites, apps, and online services to achieve goals.

2. Purposeful Engagement

  • Both interact with technology to accomplish tasks or meet needs, whether it’s communication, learning, shopping, or entertainment.

3. Not Fixed Categories

  • Both are modes of behavior, not personality types.

  • A single person may act as a Visitor in one context (e.g., banking) and as a Resident in another (e.g., social networking).

4. Can Involve Learning

  • Both Residents and Visitors can be learners, using digital resources for formal or informal education.

5. Depend on Motivation and Context

  • How people behave (Visitor vs. Resident) depends more on motivation and context than on age or technical skill.
