Hands-on activities

Inclusion of some hands-on activities using locally available materials as an important aspect of Learner-Centred Education will help to improve the course content.

I quite agree with you. That will facilitate group discussion and learners learn better when they do and when they talk.

I agree, Bashiru. Monitoring is a crucial role of the teacher in any classroom and for that reason, in the learner-centred classroom. For a range of reasons, and you provide us with the first one:

  • To prevent learners from going the wrong way, so to check that instructions have been understood and everybody is on track

I will add two of my favourite reasons:

  • To support learners who have difficulties for any reason
  • To challenge learners so that they can all achieve their potential.

Please, everybody, feel free to add other reasons to the list of why monitoring is important

Integrating technology into hand-on activities

Can we have examples of the locally available materials.

I think we should be talking about how we can integrate technology into any hand-on activity to make the digital.

Integrating technology into hands-on activities

I agree with you. What would be the best way to use technology as a hands on resource in the classroom keeping in mind devices like cell phones are not allowed in schools and they are the most available devices with multiple function?
