Connectivism

Connectivism, as a learning pedagogy, can be considered on three levels:

  • On a biological level, when we learn new things neurons in our brain fire and connections are made within our brain at a cellular level.
  • On a conceptual level, when we learn new things we make connections between what we learned and what we already knew.
  • On a social level, we also learn by making connections with other people and learning from others.

Questions:

1.  Does technology enable us to learn?  If so, how?  If not, what are the barriers?

2.  Can we use technology more effectively to enable us to connect concepts?

3.  Can we use technology to help us connect with people and learn from others?  If so, how could we achieve this in practice?  If not, what prevents us from using technology in this way?
