Question 3

Blogs will generally have a section at the bottom of the page allow readers to leave comments.  This is a crucial element of blogging.

Think about the language that was used in the video.  Think back to the different forms of pedagogy that we explored last week.

What pedagogical approaches does blogging therefore enable you to adopt in your learning and teaching practice?

It would enhance several of the pedagological approaches.  For example:

Serialism: The blogging approach removes too many examples and illustrations as the learner is producing the work.  Furthermore, they can structure the coaching themselves as they produce the blog when they like.  Finally, it allows them to explore the explanation offered without having to "just accept it".

Constructivist: Blogging is, at its heart self-instructional meaning that blogging could enhance this.

Socially Critical: The blog can create discussion forums and teamwork as shown in the introductory video to blogging.  Therefore, discussion and teamwork are actively encouraged which enhances the socially critical approach.
