In the UAE, education is a national priority, with a strong focus on improving the quality of education, developing future skills and ensuring that all students have equal opportunities to learn. The government also places great importance on inclusive education, especially for students of determination. The UAE has an Inclusive Education Policy that aims to remove barriers to learning and provide appropriate support according to each student’s needs. Schools can provide individual education plans, specialised teachers, assistive technology and other support services.
These policies have helped make schools more inclusive and have increased opportunities for students with different abilities to learn alongside their peers. In my opinion, the government could continue to invest in teacher training, classroom resources and early identification of learning difficulties. It could also increase awareness among teachers, students and parents about inclusion and how everyone can contribute to creating a supportive learning environment.
