Model Answer, Unit 3, Activity 7 A, Application and Reflection

This is a model answer. Your planning might look very different.

Memories are very important to individuals and none more so than those who struggle with their memory. In each lesson, we have found residents enjoy sharing their memories about Spain and life in general.

In this next lesson, we hope to refresh memories of learning whilst having fun and hopefully moving away from any poor memories of school and formal learning. This will encourage learners to keep attending classes.

The lesson will to be about numbers. We have chosen to use numbers 1-6 and to use a dice and make the learning more fun by having bingo to aid recall of numbers - the numbers would be called using the dice. The residents love bingo and choose to play this most days. We have also chosen to task the residents with some basic sums in more challenging forms where those who are able can say the numbers in Spanish and progress to saying the whole sum in Spanish where possible.

We will use a whiteboard again to ensure that people can see as well as hear the translations.

Residents can interrupt at any time with memories of numbers or learning.

To produce a continuity of lessons, we will start with a refresher of the greetings we learned last week and we will end with the same song - our anthem - 'We're all off to sunny Spain...'.

We have decided to work in groups of 3 this time and to find a quieter environment.

To make learners feel relaxed, we will offer some Spanish food again, Tapas style.
