Your answer might look different, here is what we thought might be useful strategies for language learning sessions:
In order to create a sense of immersion in the other language, but still make the session engaging and to avoid giving participants a sense of feeling lost or challenged, the La Biciteca approach is ideal, as language is just one of many tools used for communication.
Telling the story in simple target language and supporting the storytelling with performance elements engages the audience very much.
Using a multimodal approach means that you can cater for learners with many different needs, for example people who have a hearing impairment will understand the story through props and gestures; participants who have reduced eyesight will be able to make meaning from music, the tone of voice, song etc.
