Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities. The day itself takes place on the first shopping Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses.
The Open University Business School is supporting Small Business Saturday because so many of our students aspire to start their own successful businesses. We are committed to supporting them throughout their careers, whatever their path, through lifelong learning; a selection of student and alumni stories can be found on the OUBS website. We understand the value that the right input at the right time can make to someone starting a business, and so we have collated this content to inspire, support and help individuals and small organisations nurture their ideas and build them into successful organisations.
The Open University Business School is also hosting a networking event on 3 December 2015 for Alumni entrepreneurs and small business owners, to share their experiences and create valuable connections in support of each other. For more information about the event, please visit the Business School events calendar.
We wish you luck in your venture, wherever you are on the journey.
