People's Voice Media

A community development organisation specialising in using social media to support people to have a voice, challenge perceptions and describe their own reality.

People's Voice Media logo Copyrighted image Icon Copyright: People's Voice Media People's Voice Media describes itself as "a not for profit community development organisation that […] specialise[s] in using social media as a community engagement tool”. Their goal is to “establish a movement of community reporters which will develop local voices and distribute local views”.

It was initiated by a non-governmental organisation/charity and encourages people to participate through an online platform and organising & campaigning. People's Voice Media is local, national and transnational in orientation and concerned with media democratisation and neighbourhood & community.

It was launched in 1995 and is ongoing.
