An OpenSTEM Online Summer School providing you with an introduction to several experimental techniques in biology, analytical and health sciences via the following online investigations.
• Persistent Pesticides: Analysis of Pesticides in the Environment.
• Pineapple Power: Punching through Protein with Powerful Enzymes.
• DNA Detectives: Exploring Wildlife Biodiversity through Metagenomics.
• Antibody Agents: Exploring SARS-CoV-2 Variants with ELISA.
Three of the investigations were completed online, either via an interactive screen experiment (Persistent Pesticides and Antibody Agents) or via an online coding environment (DNA Detectives). The fourth investigation was performed at home and data analysed using an online statistics package. The investigations included recording data and observations, data analysis, and interpreting results.
