Sorry - profiles are currently unavailable

Updated Friday, 10 February 2017
Apologies if you're looking for your profile - we've had to take them offline for a short time for an update. We're hoping to restore profile functionality by lunchtime on Tuesday 14th February.

You can still log in to the site, and your progress on courses will continue to be tracked while the profiles are offline.

UPDATE: 4.00pm, 13th February 2017

We've completed the work and testing required on OpenLearn profiles and have re-opened profile functionality.

We recognise how frustrating it has been this weekend without the ability to access your profile - please accept out apologies for disruption and for any inconvenience that temporary suspension of the profile pages may have caused you.

We have left this page live for information purposes.

UPDATE: 4.00pm, 15th February 2017

Although we removed the redirect file 48 hours ago, and over 5000 people have successfully accessed their profile page since then, it appears that a small number of users are still being redirected to this page. That must be as frustrating to you as it is puzzling to us, and we're trying to find a reason why that may be happening.

If you've left a comment, try clicking on your name - in some cases this will by-pass the redirect and take you to your profile.

If that doesn't work for you,  you could try clearing your cache:

Chrome on a desktop:

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. On your browser toolbar, click More More.
  3. Point to More tools, and then click Clear browsing data.
  4. In the "Clear browsing data" box, click the checkboxes for Cookies and other site and plug-in data and Cached images and files.
  5. Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete. Choose beginning of time to delete everything.
  6. Click Clear browsing data.

Chrome on an iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. On your browser toolbar, tap More.
  3. Tap History, and then tap Clear browsing data.
  4. Under "Clear browsing data," select the checkboxes for Cookies and site data and Cached images and files.
  5. Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete. Choose beginning of time to delete everything.
  6. Tap Clear browsing data.

Chrome on an Android device:

Firefox

  1. Click the menu button and choose Options.
  2. Select the Advanced panel.
  3. Click on the Network tab.
  4. In the Cached Web Content section, click Clear Now.

Meanwhile, we're investigating how a redirect file that has been removed from our systems is still redirecting some users. Apologies if you're one of the users affected - we know it's no comfort to know that you're part of a small group so affected.
