It was on this day, 51 years ago, that The Open University received its Royal Charter and began opening up education for all.

You can enjoy the freedom of studying a range of subjects that interest you with our Certificate of Higher Education Open. You can?design your own multidisciplinary qualification to get a grounding in one or more subjects, or you can use it as the first step towards a BA/BSc (Honours) Open or Diploma of Higher Education Open. Whatever you choose, you?ll develop a breadth of knowledge and transferrable skills that can boost your personal or professional ambitions.

Diploma of Higher Education Open

Our Diploma of Higher Education Open gives you the freedom to design your own multidisciplinary qualification from a choice of subject areas. Whatever your reasons for studying, you?ll expand your knowledge, improve your skillset, and create a diploma individual to you. Not only is the Diploma of Higher Education Open a recognised qualification in its own right, but it also makes up Stages 1 and 2 of a BA/BSc (Honours) Open.
