Week 2: Designing an intervention

Introduction

Welcome to Week 2, this week focuses on the design of a development intervention. That is when those involved in the project decide on the aims of a proposed intervention and how it will be resourced, implemented, monitored, and evaluated. In some cases, this is a very varied process – where little has been decided and the options are very open. In other cases, key aspects will already be fixed, either through circumstance or through decisions already taken by the project team. The same methods and tools may be used in both situations but in different ways.

This week you will also look more closely at adaptive management as an approach to doing development differently.
