Top tips

Life online can be tricky, constant stream of students moaning can make you feel miserable and you can be exposed to content that can cause you to be potentially in breach of your universities rules and regulations. If you find that a particular group or individual within the group is getting you down or leading you to feel uncomfortable here are some things you can do.

  • Limit your time online
  • Disable notifications
  • Unfollow accounts that spread negativity
  • Block individuals on these apps who you find particularly annoying. Remember that you can block people on WhatsApp and it does not notify them. You just won’t see their messages.
  • Try not to dwell on FOMO, try to focus on the information that you have available to you from your tutors, supervisors or lecturers and reach out to individual students who you trust to give you reliable information.
  • Contact your personal tutor or institution to report bad behaviour.
