2 Using Twitter to keep up-to-date with information

If you would like to keep up-to-date with people and organisations (including academic publishers and professional bodies), an effective way to do this would be to follow them on Twitter. As a postgraduate student your studies will have greater focus, which means that you need to be selective in the resources you use, and the organisations in which you are interested in. The key to this is finding one or two good sources of information on your subject, finding out who they follow and who is following them. If you have questions about Twitter, useful places to start are getting started with Twitter [Tip: hold Ctrl and click a link to open it in a new tab. (Hide tip)] and the Twitter new user FAQ.
