Interactive feature not available in single page view (see it in standard view).
Answer
- As Elliot says, ‘The environmentalist needs to appeal to some feature which cannot be replicated as a source of some part of a natural area’s value’ (p. 84).
- Where does Elliot think the environmentalist ought to look?
Interactive feature not available in single page view (see it in standard view).
Answer
- He suggests they should ‘take over a notion from aesthetics’: the contrast between ‘the real thing’ and a ‘fake or a forgery’ (p. 84).
- State the objection to his view that Elliot considers.
Interactive feature not available in single page view (see it in standard view).
Answer
- The objection is that the distinction between what is and what is not natural cannot be made out. If this is so, it would not be possible to talk about ‘nature’ and ‘the values of nature’ (p. 84).
