Activity 14: Simplifying fractions

Show the following fractions in simplest form, where possible:

  • a.25 divided by 75


  • b.12 divided by 36


  • c.72 divided by 96


  • d.32 divided by 48


  • e.five divided by 126


  • f.164 divided by 256


  • a.25 divided by 75 = one divided by three


  • b.12 divided by 36 = one divided by three


  • c.72 divided by 96 = three divided by four


  • d.32 divided by 48 = two divided by three


  • e.five divided by 126 can’t be simplified


  • f.164 divided by 256 = 41 divided by 64

Next you’ll look at expressing a quantity of an amount as a fraction.
